He gave a quiet smile.
"It's okay, don't worry about it. I'm not really into books about big fights but I'll give it a look." Even if it was a little outside of the genres he liked there was no reason in turning down a good book. She seemed rather adamant about it so it must be quite gripping.
He smiled a little wider.
He really had been too worried. This was a true fresh start for him and to assume everything would be the same a it would be back home was silly. Things were starting a fresh and they were going right. "I signed up for the book club too. So I guess we'll be going together then?"

[[Um, Raivis and Irene...? Can you wait for me next time...? It makes it hard for me to catch up, since by the time you guys have chatted, I'm still in front of the door and barreled into by Irene..]]
He was still busy coaxing the cute little creature when something-or rather someone, barreled into him
"Here cute little birdy-OW! Oi, that hurts! Nobody barrels into the hero!" Alfred shouted. This is intolerable! He looked to the direction of the girl who ran into him- only to find that she had chatted with another person. The nerve! No-one, absolutely no-one, violates the hero and gets away with it!
"You over there, the girl with the red head! What's your name, cause you owe me an apology!

[[Oh oops~ Totally Alfred! I'll let you catch up and reply to ya~]]
Wow, she liked this kid. He seemed really nice and did she like nice people! "Well, don't get me wrong though, I love actiony books but I don't like violence being used to solve problems, y'know?"She smiled hoping that for once, a guy would actually agree that violence didn't solve things.
"Really? You're in book club too? That great! We could walk there together after classes on meeting days." She could feel that they had a lot in common despite the difference in demeanors. Ah, how she loved the smell of new friendship in the mornings!
Oh, that kid she ran into was demanding her name.
"Um, my name's Irene Doyle. Sorry about running into you! I tend space out a lot." She sighed, did she really just completely forget about him? Dang she was spacey today.

Alfred huffed. At least the girl had the decency to tell him her name and apologize.
"Alright, because you apologized, I'll forgive you...Irene, yes? Great! Well, the name's Alfred, Alfred F Jones, in case you didn't hear the awesome hero's majestic introduction! And don't you forget that! Nahahaha!!"
He then marched towards them to sit at the seat in front of Irene. "So, whatcha gonna take up here? I wanna learn some script-writing and directing, cause I wanna make my own hero-movie someday! How about you?"
It was only then that he noticed the small, scrawny boy from Room 100- none other than his own room. His face lit up- the more friends the merrier!
"Ah, you're my roommate!" he blurted. "Nice to see ya roomie! What's your name?" Alfred asks, a twinkle of interest in his eyes.

With Alfred's arrival the quiet atmosphere had been ruined and Raivis was starting to feel a little anxious again. They weren't being angry but the enthusiasm was still more than he was used to. At the question of his name he realized they hadn't really introduced one another properly. It was hard to forget Alfred's name since he took every chance he could to announce it but back in their room Raivis had barely spoken.
"I'm Raivis Galante. It's nice to meet you... well actually you're kind of overbearing but you don't seem like a bad person." He sort of mumbled the last part, occasionally glancing back at Irene as he spoke. Truthfully he wasn't sure how to handle it. He wanted to make, friends, yes but he wanted to start slow with someone who was quiet and patient and wouldn't make him feel intimidated. So far all the people he met were loud and impatient but they didn't feel like bad people, and he felt bad that he sort of wished he hadn't met them so quickly.
But maybe it wasn't too bad, he would have met them eventually, it just felt like things were going too fast.

The guy she'd run into seemed like a very excitable person. "Well, I'm going to be taking up costume design as my major but I also like to write. I hope we can work together on a project some time." Irene couldn't help but smile, Alfred's personality reminded her of her brother.
Did he just say that Raivis is his roomate but he didn't know his name? He really is a lot like her brother, loud, happy-go-lucky, and a little dense but well meaning.
"So, since we all know each other now, I'm from Dublin, Ireland. Where are you two from?"

Alfred nodded, happy with his newly made pals.
"Awesome! So Raivis...you're my roommate... And of course I'm not a bad person! I'm the hero, and heroes aren't bad! Whatcha learning here Raivis?"
He then looked back at Irene.
"Costume design! That's awesome, Irene! And yes, we so can work on a project together sometime! The three of us making hero movies- that's cool! And well, I'm from America! The Land Of the Free and Hamburgers! I love hamburgers a lot! So where do you come from, Raivis?"

"I'm from Latvia, do you know where that is?" he remarked with a vague condescending undertone to his voice. What he was always told was that American's knowledge of eastern Europe was limited to pretty much Russia. He knew he should give Alfred the benefit of the doubt, if he didn't know he would ask and it would all be a polite conversation with something new learned. Raivis had pretty much been conditioned to expect the worst though and tended to take every negative stereotype about other people to heart.
Alfred was a good person though, so he wasn't sure why he was trying to find flaws in him. Maybe it was because he was such a good person. He was taller, more confident and definitely happier than Raivis was. He would probably be a better writer too. And considering himself a hero, he probably helped people a lot. All round he was probably a better person so maybe that's why Raivis was trying so hard to find something he could feel smug about. It was petty and with Alfred probably impossible but for once he wanted to feel bigger than someone. Even if it was only over something small.

Alfred looked at Raivis.
"Latvia..? Um, where's that? I never paid attention to Geo back then, and well." He scratched his head.
"Well, that aside, what do you wanna learn here? As you have heard, I want to learn script-writing and directing! How about you? Do you like script-writing too?" He asked, eager to know. It'd be wonderful! He hoped to know more of his new roommate.
[[OOC: Raivis, should we start a new thread? Irene is MIA for the time being...So should we start another thread? Just sayin XD]]

Raivis couldn't help but feel a little high and mighty as Alfred stumbled over the question. It may have been a small victory and he was sure that Alfred would do something soon that would trump all his previous achievements but it was better than nothing. He seemed pretty quick to skip over his own shortcomings, with a hero complex like his he probably didn't like to admit weakness.
"Yeah, I want to learn script-writing too. I don't know about directing though..." he trailed off and gave a small smile "I'd probably be really bad at it. I can't boss people around." While he said it with a small laugh he kind of wished he could. He'd always been smaller and pushed around by people and even with his parents or his so called friends he still felt looked down upon. It would be nice to be in a position of power for once.
[[Yeah, that might be an idea. Do you have any ideas? If not I might make one later.]]

[[ ooc: Little Gilbird can’t keep up… ono ]]
Awesome hair? Gilbird had seen better. The ride had been pretty bumpy too! But despite that, he enjoyed the attention he got from the blonde. He enjoyed attention from anyone, really. Except when that attention meant they were going to eat him. That was horrible. Who would eat someone as cute as him anyway?! Well, apparently there were people who didn’t care how cute their food looked when it was still alive! Unbelievable!
But I digress. The attention the boy was giving Gilbird soon came to an end as someone crashed into him. The small bird quickly jumped away as both students fell to the floor. That was close! He almost got crushed!
There seemed to be a lot of commotion going on and the teacher seemed angry. This was one of the forms of attention that Gilbird didn’t like, so for a while, he just hid behind the teacher’s desk. He did not wish to get in trouble, no, not at all.
After a while, everything seemed to have calmed down a bit. Gilbird peeked at the class from behind the desk. The students had sat down already and were now talking about one thing or the other. He heard something about books. Gilbird didn’t like books that much. They were big and could easily crush someone as small as him. He wasn’t sure what the do now. A soft, uncertain “Chirp…” left his little beak as he looked up at the teacher from his spot on the floor.
