Axel was practically giddy with excitement as he lugged his cello into the sound studio. This was an academy of film, and it had a sound studio?! He didn't expect that, but it was a nice bonus. After all, he came here to work on filmmaking, specifically music in film. He knew his dad didn't really want him to do this, but he had agreed to take over the company someday, so what was the big deal?
He sat in the chair, his cello nestled between his legs. A bright smile made its way onto his face as he began tuning. The A, D, and G were okay, but whoa, what was with the C? It must have gotten banged around on the airplane or something. With a sigh, Axel began tuning the C.
When he finished tuning, he ran through a set of scales and arpeggios. Satisfied that he had not worsened in the previous week, he began working on the new piece he had been determined to master, Paganini's Twenty-Fourth Caprice for Cello.
"Alright, let's get cracking!"
He stared at the notes, cautiously playing the first two sections one note at a time, ignoring slurs and the length of the notes. Once the notes were down, he began adding in the lengths of the notes, and when that was done, the slurs.
With a relieved smile, Axel placed down his bow, and stood up, stretching. It had been a while since he had something so challenging, but it felt good to puzzle his mind and fingers. And anyway, it wasn't as if anyone was watching him, to see him working on the Caprice.
But then he turned around, and he started stammering when he saw the person standing in the open door.

[[ooc; Paganini's Caprices were originally for violin, but I think they've been transposed for cello too now. :) ]]

Irene walked around the school campus aimlessly. She was likely to get lost a lot at the school so she decided to scout it all out before the next day. She memorized the locations of all her classes and other rooms too just in case.
Eventually, the red heard head faint music coming from a room just down the hall. Curious, she followed it. Once she was sure she was at the right door, Irene peaked inside. Alone in the studio was a tall young man, who was playing the cello.
He was mezmerising the way he glided the bow across the strings and his fingers danced on the neck. Irene stood straight up and leaned on the door frame listening. Irene became so involved with the music she didn't notice when he had stopped playing and stood to stretch.
"Huh?" The guy looked startled and began to stammer. "W-wow, you're really good." She walked over to him and stuck out her hand smiling. "My name's Irene! What's your's and where ever did you learn to play like that?"

Where did he learn to play like that?
Axel fought the blush that threatened to rise in his cheeks. He...he hadn't even been really playing; he was practicing...! Gah, and this nice girl had heard him...oh God, why didn't he close the damn door?!
"I-I'm Axel Ulriksen." He gripped her hand, plastering a bright smile on his face. "I used to live in Denmark; my dad hired a cello teacher for me since I was four or five."
He could tell somehow that she really did like his playing. He felt slightly embarrassed, because why didn't he notice her standing in the doorway? ...Other than the fact that he had his back facing the door anyway. Ah, maybe his dad was right. When he was playing, he was so immersed that it was hard to drag him back to reality.
"H-Have you been standing there long?" He blurted.

Irene smiled back at Axel. It was cute that he had a faint blush about the compliment.
"Those lessons payed off then!" She quickly glanced around and grabbed the closest chair and sat down. "I loose track of time when I listen to music so I really don't know. A couple minutes I guess." She shrugged, "You where already playing when I opened the door."
Then it hit her. 'Dang he's tall!' Then something hit her again. "Wait, how old are you?"

"Hm? Oh, I'm eighteen." Axel responded. "I'm a senior here. And you?"
Following Irene's example, he sat back down, leaving his cello on it's side. He didn't know her, but he felt comforted by her Irish brogue. It reminded him of his aunt back home in Denmark. She was his mother's sister-in-law, and he liked her immensely. She was really nice and lived not far from him, so that he and his siblings were always able to go over when they wished.
He smiled tentatively at Irene. "I'm from Denmark, by the way. Are you Irish?"

Irene's eye widened a little, he was a bit older than she expected. "I'm only sixteen and a sophomore." She chuckled as she watched the blonde sit down as well.
"I'm from Denmark, by the way. Are you Irish?"
Irene laughed and replied. "Guess my accent gave it away, huh? You're the first to know it too!" She learned forward and put her elbows on her knees and rested her head in her hands. "Now, however did a cello playing dane come into contact with an Irish accent before now? I'm sure its an interesting story!" The red head smiled back at the dane. He may be two years older but she really like him already, and it was a total bonus that he was cute.

Axel laughed. "It's actually not that interesting, trust me." His aunt Margaret was a nice enough woman, but she was, in her eyes, remarkably ordinary in the life that she had led. Compared to her sister-in-law, she was as normal as they came.
"My aunt is Irish." He began. "She went to Denmark for one summer and fell in love with my uncle and the two got married. Her name was Margaret Finnegan, before she married. I visited her a lot back in Denmark, because my parents were always traveling. She never lost her Irish accent."
His smile saddened. Out of perhaps everyone else, it was his Aunt Margaret that he missed the most. She had been a surrogate mother to him when she didn't have to be, and loved him like her own.

Irene watched as Axel talked about his aunt. His eyes light up in the beginning, but in the end his smile faltered a little when he finished. Smiling, she looked directly at the dane and decided to change the subject. The red head didn't like it when Axel looked sad for some reason. Something about it made her want to make him feel better, for, what ever reason.
"That's sweet. Y'know, your auntie and uncle falling in love so quickly." She sat up a little "I was kicked out of catholic school when I was ten because a nun caught me kissing a boy behind the confessional." She laughed hoping she succeeded in lightening the mood a bit again. Wait, why did she hope she made some one she just meet feel happier?
'Maybe it's because...' She didn't finish her thought and just told herself 'Its only because you don't like it when people are sad. People in general, not just this one specific person.'[/color]
But something in the back of her mind kept saying otherwise.

"It's nice, I suppose." Axel said, smiling a little. "It actually took them a while to figure it out. My aunt was at the airport, waiting for her plane when she saw my uncle get dragged away by airport security as he tried to propose."
Then, he started laughing. Catholic schools were so uptight, he had heard. Some of his friends had went to one, and they always complained about the nuns or something. He didn't want to go to one, ever. "That sounds stupid. I was kissing boys and my teachers didn't do shit."
Axel suddenly realized with a sinking feeling that he had accidentally revealed one of his deepest secrets to someone he just met. His dad knew, of course, when he got that call from the principal, but his mom and the rest of his family (including Aunt Margaret) had no clue. Well, as long as he said it, he might as well admit the rest.
"I'm not gay." Axel said, a blush rising. "I'm bi, actually. I tend to swing towards guys more, though. When my dad got that call from the principal complaining that I should get caught kissing girls for once, he said that it wouldn't be so bad if I was bi, so I told him I was, because you know, he already knew..."

[[ooc; I...just don't know. o___o forgive me? I actually planned on him being bi, because of DenNor, but you know. asdfghjkl;; I just couldn't think of anything, so he came out early. D< ]]

[[ooc: lol strange things just happen when you role play and some times they end up more random than others~ :D Oh and I originally wanted Irene's last name to be Finnegan what a coincidence~ lol]] ----
Irene stopped and stared at Axel. Well then. A strange thought popped in her head as she listened to Axel rabble on slightly flustered.
"Good thing you didn't go to Catholic school then! If they had a heart attack when I kissed a boy, they'd probably have a stroke if they saw you. Crazy ass nuns just don't get love do they?" She smiled, this guy's life must've been pretty unique. A bi Danish boy growing up with an Irish aunt and friends who went to strict catholic schools.... She began to wonder what kind of trouble he and his friends would get into when an image of Axel as a little kid popped into her head and she started to space off. What a cute little guy!
.....
Crap. She just missed part of what he said.... what a cute little kid.. FOCUS IRENE FOCUS.

"Yeah, I remember getting in trouble a lot even though I didn't go to their schools or anything." Axel rolled his eyes. "Apparently, sneaking into a Catholic school to kidnap your friends is eternal damnation."
As he was speaking, he noticed that Irene seemed to have her mind elsewhere. An amused smile on his face, he waved a hand in front of her eyes, wondering if she would respond. A rather devilish idea popped into his head and he began to sing random words.
"Oh apple pie, oh banana, how I love thee so dearly....Oh magical, unicorns, why don't you give me your wings? Headphones, my headphones, will you marry me? You're always with me anyway. Magical corn stalks growing in Japan, they make you smaaarteeeerrrr..."

Irene snapped back to reality. Wait, what was he talking about? Wait unicorns? Japan? Headphones? .... She seriously missed something.
Oh god how long did she zone out!? Frantically she nodded and laughed nervously before saying "Yeeeaaaahhhhh, I missed something." She made a little pout and looked over at Axel and did one last awkward little laugh. Then she noticed the look on his face.

Axel burst into laughter at the awkward look on Irene's face. Before she felt too bad about missing what he had said, he spoke. "Don't worry, it wasn't anything important. You were spacing out, so you know, I had to take advantage of it!"
And with that explanation, he burst into laughter again, practically struggling for breath. Oh, that was just too good. How he could have kept a straight face throughout that whole random singing bit, he didn't know, but it was good for him that he did.
"You're not mad, are ya?"

After she saw Axel was laughing she stopped.
"You little bugger!" She flicked him on the forehead before laughing too. After they both stopped laughing she he asked her if she was mad.
"Of course not you dope. You know, you remind me a lot of my little brother." She smiled fondly, she'd only been away a couple of days and she already missed him and his antics. She then realized that she should email him about everything going on at the Academy. He'd love to hear about it all.

Axel stopped laughing, only because he needed to pause for breath. Little brother? He was older! And thank the gods that his own little siblings weren't like him. If they were, he didn't think his parents could handle that...
"I'm older!" He protested, spoiling the effect by laughing. "Honestly, I swear I am! How many siblings do you have? I have two."
